APPLICATION RULING UPDATE
Baynes' visitation access was increased from 2 to 3 times weekly for 3 hrs each; granted access for special occasions; parents can attend preschool and kindergarten functions as other parents do; all information for doctors' appointments is to be sent by email to the parents and if the doctors give advance and written consent then parents can attend; Unsupervised access was denied. LOOK FOR MORE ON THIS BLOG SITE TOMORROW MORNING.

ReplyDeleteThank God.

SO disappointed with this small 'token of goodwill'! I recognize that it is important to see some inclusion of the parents in the medical care for their children, but they should not need the doctor's consent to be present. That's ludicrous! I hope the children have doctors who are independent thinkers and not blindly pro-MCFD.
ReplyDeleteThis is arguably more than what the Baynes had in past and is a step in the right direction. The part that worries me is that access will still be contingent upon MCFD providing supervision. UNLESS the Baynes have done what we did, and obtained an MCFD approved supervisor who can be available when they need it, unpaid by the MCFD????? We found a visit supervisor with impeccable references that MCFD could not reasonably deny and she (God bless her!) made herself available even for Christmas Day visits. Could the Baynes do the same?
There is a certain list of Doctors and other sub specialties that network with Child Protectors to undermine parents in such matters. There is an organized National Alliance that many are aware of. It would be easy to search out Membership of medical professionals attached to this file, and others like it.
ReplyDeleteThis is an excellent opportunity for the MCFD to review its position and perhaps enter into serious negotiations toward settlement with the Bayne Family. Congratulations Paul and Zabeth. Enjoy some fun in the sun with your little ones.
ReplyDeleteAWESOME!

ReplyDeleteProvide documentation please and thank you. Saying "I've heard" or "someone told me" or "trust me, I know" is not sufficient evidence for such a claim.

ReplyDeleteYou are aware, I'm sure, that many professions are considered "mandated reporters" and will face severe penalties if they don't report any suspected abuse.
The list below is for USA, but it's probably the same or very similar for Canada:
These generally include, but are not limited to the following:
Adult protective service employees
Child advocates
Child protective service employees
Chiropractors
Clergy
Summer Camp Counselors
Commercial Film and Photographics Print Processors [1]
Dentists and dental hygienists
Emergency medical service providers
Marital and family therapists
Medical examiners
Mental health professionals
Nurses
Ombudsmen
Optometrists
Parole officers
Pharmacists
Physical therapists
Physician assistants
Physicians
Podiatrists
Police officers
Probation officers
Psychologists
Public health service providers responsible for the licensing or monitoring of child day care centers, long term care and nursing facilities, group day care homes, family day care homes, and youth camps
Professional counselors
Resident medical interns
School teachers, coaches, guidance counselors, paraprofessionals, and principals
Sexual assault and battered women’s counselors
Social workers
Substance abuse rehabilitation counselors
So, as you can see, it doesn't really matter if there is or is not some Alliance, there are plenty - and I mean plenty - of others who will be obligated to report any suspicion of child abuse or neglect.
